The facilities at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground enable us to provide secure vehicle storage and refurbishment services on a massive scale to vehicle manufacturers, leasing and finance companies. Our areas of expertise cover all vehicles, including cars, vans and commercial vehicles.
In conjunction with our strategic partners, we can offer a total package incorporating vehicle collection, storage, refurbishment, servicing, mechanical repair and disposal to cover the entire life cycle of the vehicle from the end of the lease / repossession to re-sale.

Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome and Proving Ground provides 100 acres of hard standing for vehicle storage and is able to accommodate up to 20,000 vehicles in a fully managed, and computer controlled, secure compound within the security fenced airfield complex.
All vehicles are fully insured and are stored in controlled lane and bay parking. Each vehicle is entered onto our Vehicle Storage & Refurbishment IT system which our customers can access via the internet providing full visibility of vehicle arrival dates, locations and costs.

On arrival, all vehicles are inspected independently for any damage. This enables our customers to make decisions regarding the refurbishment and/or disposal of that vehicle. Inspections are either carried out by third party Inspection Services Providers, appointed by our customers, or by our own experienced Inspection team.
Where any refurbishment is undertaken by us (see ‘Vehicle Refurbishment’), our work is inspected for quality by the Inspection Services Provider. Details of the final, passed Quality Control (QC) inspection are provided electronically to all relevant parties to ensure any remaining vehicle damage is clearly visible to prospective purchasers.
In addition, we can undertake Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) on any vehicles stored here as required.
[ return to top ]Our commitment to quality is reflected by the significant investment we have made over recent years in our state of the art spray booths and ovens - purpose built to accommodate 12,000 cars and light vans per year. There is also a dedicated spray booth for trucks, articulated lorry trailers and coaches which can refurbish up to 3,000 commercial vehicles per year. This facility enables us to maximise volumes and reduce turnaround times, without compromising on quality.
In addition to panel repairs and spraying we undertake smart repairs, alloy wheel refurbishment, cold metal repairs and windscreen repair / replacement, all on-site and completed to agreed standards. Interior and exterior vehicle valeting services are also available prior to the despatch of vehicles.
Where there is more extensive damage to a vehicle e.g. accident damage, we have a dedicated workshop on-site, staffed by experienced technicians who can undertake more complex repairs to bodywork.

VEHICLE SERVICING, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Our technicians can provide servicing for any vehicle on site. For vehicles in longer term storage we are able to provide a maintenance programme to minimise any negative impact of adverse weather and longer term storage.
Where a vehicle is deemed to be a ‘non-runner’, our technicians will run a diagnostic check and agree the necessary action with our customer.

All expenditure on vehicles is recorded on our Vehicle Storage & Refurbishment IT system. This means that our customers have total visibility of storage dates and accrued storage charges per vehicle.
In addition, our pricing policy is that we only charge our customers for refurbishment work that has actually been undertaken. Unlike some of our competitors, we do not charge a ‘standard’, all inclusive charge per vehicle. There are no hidden charges, only total visibility of the work that has actually been undertaken on customer’s vehicles and the associated charges.

VEHICLE REPOSSESSION AND RECOVERY – IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ANGLIA GROUP
With a national network of agents, Anglia offer a full vehicle tracing and repossession service throughout the UK and Eire. In addition to vehicle repossessions, Anglia is equally at home handling keyless and overseas recoveries in mainland Europe.
Repossessed or recovered vehicles can be held either at one of Anglia’s secure vehicle holding compounds or delivered to us at Bruntingthorpe for refurbishment in readiness for re-sale.

VEHICLE LOGISTICS – IN CONJUNCTION WITH ‘BRIT EUROPEAN’
Where our customers have not appointed their own third party specialist supplier, we are able to offer the full suite of transportation/logistic services via our partner, Brit European. Brit European own Silver Arrow Logistics, recognised as a quality provider of automotive logistics in the UK, and a specialist in the collection and delivery of finished vehicles on behalf of car and van manufacturers. Their operation also includes Brit European Transport Ltd, who are the leading provider of commercial vehicle distribution in the UK, and a trade plate operation – Brit Drive.

Our weekly auctions of selected vehicles on site are run exclusively for our trade customers by Manheim Auctions - part of Manheim Inc, the world’s largest vehicle remarketing company. Bruntingthorpe is one of Manheim’s UK network of 20 remarketing centres offering a comprehensive range of vendor and buyer services including: vehicle collection and delivery, inspection, reconditioning, mechanical assurance, valeting and Simulcast, a live link to the physical auction hall. Bruntingthorpe is one of the 4 Manheim supercentres in the UK, offering a unique auction experience for buyers and sellers.
