MIA Networking Day with a petrol head twist

We recently played host to the MIA (Motorsport Industry Association) and a selection of its members for an action-packed day of driving thrills and networking. Guests arrived for an adrenaline fuelled day, starting with the all-important tea, coffee and bacon roll and a chance to network with other guests. Suitably caffeinated the group received a compelling talk on the changing landscape of the automotive industry from MIA CEO Chris Aylett, before having the opportunity to discover what the Bruntingthorpe site offers, with a tour of the sites extensive facilities.

Following a sedate start to the morning the guests were ready to sample the Bruntingthorpe corporate hospitality offering at its best. Guests climbed into Westfield sports cars and got to experience the car’s revered handling ability, navigating around a coned autosprint course. Weighing only 450kg yet boasting a whopping 150bhp the guests hurtled round the course as they competed for the fastest lap times, with penalties issued for any cone-related casualties.

Also on offer was the chance to have the ultimate driving experience in Bruntingthorpe’s Ariel Atoms. With 245bhp and a 0-60mph speed of 2.6 seconds these incredible open top vehicles offer a sensational driving experience. Guests were able to get the most from their drives with  experienced instructors on hand guests were expertly guided around the Sprint Course, designed to put any vehicle through its paces in speed and handling.

The ultimate afternoon of driving activities did not stop there, there was also the opportunity to challenge colleagues and new contacts in a head to head battle on our purpose built Kart Track. The 1/3 of a mile circuit is built up of twists and turns designed to offer maximum fun for all drivers, regardless of their skill set. Competitive streaks began to show as guests competed with up to three other drivers for the best lap time in twin engine karts.

The day offered perfect weather and a great opportunity for all involved for networking with an added adrenaline boost.
