Specialist Testing

Nestled in the Leicestershire countryside, Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground is ideal for specialist vehicle testing and non-vehicular applications.

When high security and a private test track are needed for your specialist vehicle applications, Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground has everything all in one place. We are a unique testing facility for the automotive and defence sectors, preferred by many manufacturers and organisations due to our extremely secure premises and active airfield advantages. We understand the importance of confidentiality and ensure the details of all projects are protected with the utmost care and attention.

The 670-acre main site is perfect for military vehicle test and evaluation (T&E) activities and military vehicle trials. There is the opportunity to use our off-road 4x4 track, main 6.5km circuit, and Rough Terrain Centre for a number of specialist testing applications. Our onsite Boeing 747 is also suitable for special forces training, a unique service offered within the industry.

The wide and varied facilities also lend themselves well for testing of construction and other off-highway vehicles. The facilities at the Rough Terrain Centre can be used in conjunction with the asphalt surfaced tracks and other durability features to cover a number of appropriate duty cycles and test procedures. Programmes ranging from vehicle performance testing through to accelerated durability cycles are all possible due to the relevance of the bespoke test features available on the site.

The defence sector is welcome to use Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground for new vehicle testing and launch, electrical engineering and EMC testing, reliability growth trials (RGT), reliability demonstration trials (RDT), bespoke battlefield missions, defence driver training, unmanned air and ground vehicle trials, night vision equipment evaluations, forward operating base (FOB) T&E, and special forces exercises including hostage situations.
